Can you really do that?

Can you really do that and achieve it?

I know psychology says we choose how we react to life, how we feel. But can you really choose to approach life, with all of it's problems, troubles, disappointments and pain and ..........feel joy, because you choose to be a joyous person? And what would be success, feeling joyous all the time, most of the time, part of the time?

I have been wanting and looking for a sense of peace and balance in my life for some time, and it came to me as I drove home from the store this morning....I choose joy. But can you do that? Could I?

That would be triumphant, to be joyous despite the toils and pains of this life. That would be defiant,....and affirming.

I can do all things through God who strengtheneth me.
??
I wonder.

I believe you can. But like any plant, it is something you have to water and care for until it grows strong.. and also, weed out the negative things that impede it's growth.

<3 Good luck.
Well I definitely know you can't if you don't try. ;)
God says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. It's hard to see that sometimes.

i think the only way to truly change oneself is to simply believe (: and there is only one way to find joy, and that is through the almighty.

That particular message changed my life about 9 months ago. I learned that happiness is a choice that is made daily. I went to a laughter training where the subject was covered. I truly believe that it's bound to increase longevity. And, if given the choice between being perpetually happy, or perpetually sad, I choose happiness.

I say yes :)

Well...sort of. I mean we choose how the things in our life make us feel to an extent. Some people let things bother them more then others. Those who let things bother them less are obviously going to be more joyous people :)

Hmm,it's a good theory I suppose, but me being the cynic likes to think that I did not Choose all the cra* I have been thru in life..or was it that I didn't choose joy?

~I'm not sure if Life is passing me by..or trying to run me over!:sprint:~
you don't choose the cra ....but you choose how you deal with it, react to it, and I hear, part of that is how you feel about it.....choosing joy or some other aspect of that doesn't effect what happens, :D unless it makes you feel a little better so you're less apt to be muddled and foggy and not bang your shin on that stupid cart you just parked by the appliance desk and nearly fall and break your wrist and skull in the process :D

I just wanted to call your attention to Curse of the Red Bull [link]
It's a submission by author Rich Knoll, here at deviant, about a character from one of his books and Amalthea from The Last Unicorn. It's a short story, presented here complete. It's a little long for a single entry, but I recommend you read it. It's an interesting addition to The Last Unicorn saga and introduces you to Shahly, a brave new character in the fantasy world. Enjoy.
