Artist's Comments

Oil on multimedia board, approximately 12.5 x 13.5
This is a little painting, that due to it's medium, oil, and the detail, begs to be large.

This isn't perfect, it has it's flaws, but I do believe it is finished and will have to live as most of us do, with it's faults.
I hope the idea/message is decipherable. I'm not sure. It was a lot of work and effort to say such a simple thing. :D

I like that the stool's knocked over. Cast away the mundane!

And yes, the artist can do much to breathe life into the otherwise unseen. The cardinal to phoenix take is a nice note, too. :>

I have never been a big fan of the feminine form of the word magician, but here it works. :giggle:
Do you really think some won't "get it"? Why else do artists strive for art?

The mixed responses to the painting before it was finished led me to wonder if I could pull it off or not. I did feel it needed a more feminine feeling than created by The Magician.
