I like the suggestion of claws or talons in several different areas of this piece. It gives you pause before you move on to the next area. I want to know where you saw a beach with sand that color. Excellent use of light as usual, and the depth of color is breathtaking.
The colours are really great here. The picture is really warm with all the reds, yellows and deep browns, it's very well incorporated, and then you use a bit of blue and grey to break up the pattern and breathe a bit of extra life into the piece. The details, as always, are amazing. It's a very warm and soothing picture.
I highly respect you and your work because of that, you put so much into every single picture you make...
Thanks, for your evaluation. I think people, perhaps find this one a little strange for some reason. Maybe the mixing of the fantasy element with something so familiar, or perhaps it's the 'fantasy-still life' effect. (or a sense that it is all too 'contrived'?)
I did try to liven it up and break it up with use of color and I LOVE warm colors.
the combination of detail and color in this is SO BEAUTIFUL. AND it's traditional...which I love. I do all my work with a tablet and hold so much respect for someone who works in traditional. It is just a lot different...and a bit more difficult to do (IMO).
Thanks for the comment and the fav. All media, including computer/tablet have their own skills required, and difficulties. I have a tablet, but haven't done much with it yet.-want to, just to see what I can do.
